NCAA Details Student-Athletes’ Graduation Success

Eight UC Davis Intercollegiate Athletics teams saw all their players since 2010 advance to graduation within six years of entering college, giving each team a perfect score in the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s annual report on Graduation Success Rate, or GSR.

In the Big West Conference — in which most UC Davis teams compete — the Aggies earned an overall GSR of 92 percent, leading the conference for 12th time in the last 13 years.

Bruce Edwards, Bill Chancellor Honored With UC Davis Medal

Alumnus and businessman Bruce Edwards of Saratoga, and the late William J. “Bill” Chancellor, professor emeritus of biological and agricultural engineering, have been honored with the UC Davis Medal, the highest honor the university presents to an individual.

Interim Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter presented Edwards’ medal at a gala event in his honor on June 13. Chancellor’s wife of 56 years, Nongkarn Chancellor, is accepting the medal on his behalf at the ��ý of Engineering’s commencement today (June 16).

Interim Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter sent the following letter Oct. 6 to the Council of Deans and Vice Chancellors and the Athletics Advisory Committee on the subject of “reaffirming our commitment to Division I scholar-athleticism at UC Davis.”
