* Aug. 29, Wednesday -- Steven Schier, professor and chair of the political science department at Carleton Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ in Northfield, Minn., will speak on "What Bill Clinton Can Teach George W. Bush." He is author of, among other books, "By Invitation Only: The Rise of Exclusive Politics in the United States," and he edited "The Postmodern Presidency: Bill Clinton's Legacy in American Politics." He is currently writing a book on the problems of the American electoral system. Schier's presentation, sponsored by the Institute of Governmental Affairs and the political science department at UC Davis, will begin at 4 p.m. in Room 273 of the Social Sciences and Humanities Building.
